SOMAYINA CHIGBUE

The principal partner of the firm was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in December 2012. Upon completion of the NYSC programme, he joined the Law office of Suswam & Ogbole., a prominent and respected firm, where he commenced law practice tutelage. He also worked with top law offices, which include law office of Demola Bakre. From his active position in most of these firms, he gained vast experience in diverse areas of law practice.  He reverted to practice in the present name upon the appointment of his erstwhile Principal to the Bench.

His experience covers commercial practice and litigation generally in the area of arbitration, commercial law practice. He has extensively handled issues arising from briefs in oil and gas matters, company law, capital market solicitor’s work i.e. active participation in public issues and, drafting of wills, drafting/negotiation of contracts, transaction advice and general legal advice.

In litigation matters, being his forte, he has achieved a comparatively high rate of success in cases related to arbitration, debt recovery, contractual liability, torts, admiralty matters, election petitions and matrimonial matters. As a seasoned litigator, he has actively practiced in the superior courts of record i.e. the Federal and State High Courts, Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court.

Possessing practical skills honed in the course of practice over the years, Mr. Somayina Chigbue has been able to help clients achieve the best in the solution of problems while also, as team leader, ensuring a balance of integrity and tenacity in the resolution of legal conflicts.
